21st Annual Kathleen Pallante Memorial Tournament
St. Thomas CYO's 21st Annual Kathleen Pallante Memorial Tournament is Thursday 1/12 - Saturday 1/14!
The tournament is named in honor of the memory and dedication of Kathleen Pallante, a much beloved former teacher at St. Thomas School for 20 plus years. Proceeds from the tournament fund a scholarship in her name at the school. In addition to being a fundraiser, the Pallante tournament is an exciting weekend with 50/50 raffles, trophies, coaches awards, expanded concessions, a half court shooting contest, and above all great basketball and family fun!
If you are available to assist with one of the many duties, please email Karen at email@example.com. Many hands make light work!
Admission to Pallante Memorial Tournament
Daily admission this year, including St. Thomas family members, is $3 per person, $1 for senior citizens, or $7 per family. Players, coaches and children under 10 are free. We invite you and your family to attend games in addition to those your child is playing. The tournament features some of the best youth basketball in the area and is excellent, reasonably-priced family entertainment. Remember that net proceeds from the tournament fund a scholarship in Kathleen Pallante's name!

"Sport, properly directed, develops character, makes a person courageous, a generous loser and a gracious victor... it also makes the mind itself a more refined instrument for the search and communication of truth and helps a person to achieve that end to which all others must be subservient, the service and praise of his or her Creator." Pope Pius XII, Sport at the Service of the Spirit. July 29, 1945.
"The Church looks at sport with great sympathy, since it considers the human body as the masterpiece of creation.... The Church sees sport as a mighty element of moral and social education." Pope John Paul II, Address to the International Olympic Committee. May 27, 1982.
